About a year and a half ago the site was changed over to what it is now. Tech info was kept on a different server and was not able to be transfered over. It was rebuilt from the ground up. I'm not sure if that topic is covered. I'm sure one of the gearheads will be able to help you out.

Have 2 '93 SSEi'*. Gauges quit working on 1 of them a couple years ago. Only Speedo and Tach work.
About a year ago the 2nd car'* gauges quit working.
Last week engine went in the 2nd car (both cars have about 165K miles on them).
Now the weird thing. While towing the car home with the key on, the gauges worked fine.
Start the car and the gauges quit. Both cars.
I had assumed it was an ECM, grounding problem or maybe vacuum lines.
All vacuum lines were replaced on car #2. No help.
I am completely stumped and have searched everywhere for help on this issue.
Hoping someone on this forum may have some ideas.
Thank you in advance for any help on this issue.

The motors that move the needles can go bad, but thats weird that they worked with the car being towed

I have the same problem, you have to get a new cluster from the dealership - bottom line, I did all things possible - cleaned all terminals including the ones under the rocker panel or have the cluster gauge repaired by MR.Whizard Technical Services for under 200.http://www.mrwhizard.com. they do a great job.

common problems on these bonnevilles -why couldnt GM simply do it like the old way - run all gauges in different sending units. My 1979 10th anniversary Trans-am had the most accurate gauges and was the best gauge cluster I ever owned. GM can really f up a wet dream. just like phasing out Pontiac - I was a big GM guy all my life mostly owned GM muscle cars Pontiac and chevy'* but now, I just think they are starting to become a piece of crap.
