Electrical Problem - Wipers & Door Locks
My car is having a couple issues:
1) The doors unlock themselves after I lock them (after the car is turned off). Doesn't matter if I push the button or use the remote. They either unlock immeadiatly or sometimes it takes a few seconds. I'm guessing its some kind of a sensor problem (like when you put it in park and turn the car off and the doors auto unlock - stuck in unlock mode perhaps)? I noticed this beginning a week or two ago.
2) The window wash function does not work on its own. Nothing happens when I turn the thing. It does work normally if I turn the wipers on first (any mode - "mist", intermediate, or full on). This just started a couple days ago. Switch or relay problem maybe?
I'm not sure what to check or where to check for either of these.

The lock/unlock. To verify..you aren't locking with the key in the ignition, right? That will auto unlock. I would assume door sensor is bad..however your interior lights would stay on with the door closed if that were the case. Need to check the old book.
Washer not working. check the washer pump located on the side of the washer tank under the hood. Very possible a line to the washers burst, broke, came undone, or the motor has stopped working. Lift the hood and have a friend try to use them. Do you hear the motor? If not check connection etc. If you do..look for the fluid leak.

2 first - Sounds like a switch issue to me, nothing to do with the pump, since you state it works if you turn the wipers on first. I don't have a wiring diagram handy, but that'* the first thing I would track down.
1) I have no idea. I had a whole mess of stuff typed up, re-read your post, and erased it as totally wrong...

Nope, I'm not locking it with the key still in. The dome light goes off like normal.
I'll have to give the elec. diagrams in my chiltons a shot when I get home tonight...they never seem to be too helpful to me though.
The unlocking is strange to me...especially the way it immeadiatly unlocks sometimes and other times it waits longer. After several succesive lock attempts it seems like it is going to stay locked yet the next morning or when I get out of work it will be unlocked.

I personally would (and this may not be easy) start by checking the wiring in and to the door. Maybe one of the switches has a flakey connection or pinched wire???

Actually this is sounding more liek the body control module or the remote function actuator. There are detailed steps.. need to either get home tonight to post or if someones fingers feel good and they have the book handy.

Nope, no aftermarket alarm/remote start.
The locks seem to be getting worse. When I got home last night it unlocked 3 times while opening and closing my door to get out. This morning I turned off my car when I got to work and the auto unlock fired off 5 times in a row before I even got my key out. Neither time had I locked (or attempted to lock, as the case seeems to be ) the doors yet.
I looked through my Chiltons last night but couldn't come up with anything. All the diagrams were for lights and engine only. I did see that there is a door lock relay, but from what I understand about relays it would have to be randomly shorting internally for the relay itself to be at fault (or it would be stuck in one position?)...doesn't seem like that fits my problem. Something must get information from the door sensor and ignition so it know when to auto unlock or delay lock...I assume this is the body control module or remote function actuator BillBoost37 is talking about.
