93 Bonneville interior lights, other elec. problems
I've read the postings and have seen the "famous" picture. However, our car doesn't have the drivers side little box under the threshold? Seems like I read here where it might be in the trunk? Can someone clarify for me (in layman'* terms please - I'm such a girl!). The key hole doesn't light up when door handle lifted, interior lights no longer come on automatically (but will turn on manually), radio shuts off when key removed. We noticed all this the night after I had the windshield replaced. My hunny noticed the plastic thingies along the inside of windshield were loose and one of them has wires going up but nothing plugged into them - I think he said a pink and a black plug in? Not sure if any of this makes sense but if someone can help I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

So... Illuminated Entry and Retained Accessory Power are not functioning.
I would check underhood fuse #3 first, it seems to be the common link.
The manual also mentions to check I/P Fuse 6, RH Underhood Fuse 2, and LH Underhood Fuse 7.
If the fuses are found to be okay, The manual then seems to point to relay E to be the next likely culprit, assuming your ignition switch is functioning correctly. The relay is in the relay center under the glovebox. Look up from below and you'll find it right next to the door. I assume the realy is marked in some way and it'* connections are numbered in some fashion. Here'* what you should read where the relay plugs in, If something measure wrong, Fix it before continuing with the test.
Ignition In ACCY,
You should measure B+ at terminal 3, If not the BRN wire has a short or open, or the IGN SW is faulty.
You should measure B+ between teminals 2 and 3, If not the BLK GND wire is open.
You should measure B+ between terminals 2 and 4,, If not the RED wire has an open or RH Underhood Fuse 2 is open.
You should measure B+ between terminals 2 and 5 while the key is turned to RUN, then 10 minutes after the key is turned to OFF. If not the BLK wire has an open or short to ground, or the RAC module is bad.
If you got this far and everything checked out okay, The relay is bad.

If that isn't the issue, I think the body control module (MALL) may be the little box you found that is unplugged.
You may want to contact the windshield place that did the swap for you and ask if they may have unplugged or done anything to keep the interior lights etc off while working on the car.

re; 93 Bonneville interior lights, other elec. problems
Oh thank you! This will be something I check first thing tonite when I get home - didn't drive it today - - now am having a DIFFERENT problem that probably wouldn't go in this section (car shuts off for no apparent reason. The gas gauge doesn't seem to be working right so at first thought I might be out of gas. But it didn't take enough gas to be that. Set the trip meter and I went another 120 miles and it started doing the same thing. It starts right back up but will continue dying. When it cut out on me in the middle of an EXTREMELY busy intersection I said that'* it! Not driving it anymore till we figure it out. So I may be riding the bus...) I'll post on here tomorrow to let you know what I find out tonite. Bless you! Nicki

re: interior lights, etc. problem update
really not an update I guess because I haven't found anything out. I printed all of this out - along with the pcitures etc. - - took it to my mechanic who is scratching his head saying he can't find anything wrong with it. I don't suppose any of ya'll live in the Tampa-bay area of Florida? *sigh*

Well... Tampa area you have Sandrock, Lash, Jr's3800, 96TampaSSEi, Marik... and a few new members as well.
BTW.. the ground buss is in your car on the driverside. They secretly hid it by taping it to the wiring harness with about 30 pounds of tape to disguise it.

the Pink and black wires that run up the passenger side of the A pillar (by the windshield) are for the Sunroof....if you dont have a sunroof then there is just a connector there with nothing pluged in to it.....you dont have to worry about that one
