New Detailing Forum
I just wanted to let everyone know about a new forum for those that are addicted to detailing or just want to learn more about keeping your car looking great: www.detailingforums.com
As some of you might know, most forums either only allow discussion of products that they sell through their store, or are heavily biased toward certain products. This forum will not have any restrictions other than language. The site is run by the owner of www.danase.com which I've mentioned a few times as a great place to buy detailing products. Stop by and check it out.

That'* absolutely amazing! Thanks a whole lot for the link. But you do understand what you've done now, right? I'm going to have to post twice as much and get my car looking like new. Oh, the advantage...

I want to sign up with you as the referrer. Do you have a different username on those forums? I haven't even started searching yet, so I might come up with the answer just after posting.

I have to say that this club has far better detailing advice than that forum. I asked about some paint chipping, and the response I got was to check Google because I could find a lot of stuff there about that topic. Great. Not many of the other threads have been that great. BC wins again!

And you base this assumption just on the fact you didn't get advice on paint repair? I'm not sure if you realize it, but detailing is mainly about cleaning a car, and polishing/protecting the paint. Go to the largest detailing site there is, Autopia, and you are not likely to get much better advice. Detailers don't normally get into paint repair, that is left to bodyshops or hobbyists that know how to do body work. Sure, someone like PeterG would probably be able to give you advice on fixing your paint chips, but that doesn't make this site superior in detailing knowledge.
Aside from that, DF is was just redesigned and is just now starting to grow. So no, it isn't going to have the knowledge base of Autopia, but give it time.

Ah, you make a good point. I need to elaborate.
I've seen quite a few posts go the way of the generic responses. I can't find them right now, but I'll have a look. Realistically, no forum with so many members can suck outright, so it'* actually very well set up and has a good knowledge base. My main problem with the forum is just the answer quality (read: length, content). The thing I see mainly on there is that people recommend products they haven't used but have heard of other people using them. I guess that'* good enough for most, and I can't see a difference between NuPolish and Invisible Glass, except that NuPolish revealed scratches on/scratched my hood!
I'll still participate and try to make it a good forum. I'm not being thankless or anything.
