If you remember Earl Scheib painting cars for $29.95 you must be about the same age as me...
I'm 50.
I think I would go with Maaco before I would go with Earl Scheib.

I remeber those Earl Sheib commercials.
Haven't seen a shop in years, tho
And, we were dioscussing Maaco in another thread. Thier results are kind of hit and miss, depending on who owns the shop you go to. I bellieve they are independent franchises.

i would say neither but maaco i belive would be better. They both do really cheap work, you get what you pay for. My friend got a custom light blue from Earl Shieb and it looked like a basketball because of all the dimpling on the paint. They also got clearcoat all over the windows (because they didnt take the time to cover the windows or something) and it looked like there was a thick fog looking through the windows. I would not get my car painted at either one, but I will never go to Earl Shieb that'* for sure.

I don't know what you have around you, but I know here we have a LaMettry'* auto body and paint. GREAT customer service and they did a fantastic job on my mom'* van. They had to replace the front fender, paint matched perfectly and they took the time and effort to match the pinstripes up to a T. I was very impressed with their work, and they also give you a rental for the entire time you are out of a vehicle.
:EDIT: I guess it'* a minnesota only company, but i'd still stay away from maaco or the other one. I've seen maaco'* work, I was severly dissappointed.
