How do you clean rims?

Try "Never Dull" it'* what I use on my chrome/metal exhaust... and my father uses it all over on his motorcycle.... works magic.

NeverDull (the big wad of cotton in the can, right?) might eat the protective coating/clear coat off of non-chromed wheels. We used this stuff in the army to remove the clearcoat and polish all that stining brass on our dress uniforms. I would not recommend it on non-chrome wheels.

Just thought of something, These rims are from PA, where I assume they use salt on the roads. The black stuff is only where the clearcoat is gone... Does aluminum rust? Would aluminum rust happen to be black?

The areas I've scrubbed enough to look concours good have no pitting or anything of that sort, So am I to assume that this isn't rust?
