I worked at macco for 6 months.
First off, go to a corperate macco. The quailty of the tools, and overall cleanliness is much better.
With anything else, it'* just a case of you get what you paid for. A 299 paint job will look like crap and will fade in 2-3 years.
If you really want a good paint job, go 2-stage (base clear).
And if you want your hood, roof and trunk to come out looking like glass, have them stipped. You may just want to do the hood since it will make the most difference and stripping is expensive. But if any of them are chipping strip them all.
Basically, you can't get a good paint job without spending at the very least $700.

You'll have to ask them if it'* a corperate macco.
I'm almost positive you got an estimate for a 1 stage polyeurothane paint job. It will look okay depending on where you go but it'* not worth it IMO. If you want it done right you have to go a 2 stage paint job. That paint job alone without stripping will run $700+.

Had a friend that did his whole car w/ Macco. It'* crap, there is no clearcoat even though they say they clearcoat it.
I had my infamous black fender painted by Macco, it turned out alright. I askeed them to re-align the fender, they didn't. Considering the guy barely knew english, I just gave them the $100 and went on my marry way. Decent for the $ I payed, but would not get my whole car painted there unless I was hard up for a paint job...
