GXP fender and bumper
So, after owning my 2004 Bonnie GXP for all of 5 days, I've already had my first fender bender :( Just happened a few hours ago. The damage isn't too bad, and the that ran into me is a neighbor, so I decided to let his mom pay for the damages directly. The damage to the bumper looks like it would actually buff out, the plastic didn't crack or chip at all, though I may notice more tomorow when I get a look at it in the daylight. The dent on the bumper is actually pretty big, and not easily filles, I assume a new fender will have to be installed. I am showing GM# 1240288 as the fender part #. Does anyone know if that is correct? And does the GXP use the same fender and bumper as the other bonnevilles? It looks like the most expensive thing, which I didnt notice until an hour after the fact, is some serious scratching/scuffing.

Awesome, thank you. I worry that a body shop will order parts from a regular Bonneville, and it is really important to me that I keep the GXP specific parts intact. With Pontiac being dead and all, I want to help keep the legacy alive as long as possible

Just a regular bodyshop. The quote for replacing the fender, repairing the scratched rim, replacing the headlight and painting the bumper is $1600. Luckily the mom of the kid who hit me is dating the guy who owns this place.

But who'* paying you for the loss in value since the car is now wrecked? If it shows up on CarFax, you will take a huge hit in value if you trade it in.......ask me how I know.........
Seriously, have a dealership appraise the car with, and without, the bad carfax. Tell your buddy'* mom (or the insurance adjuster) that you want the unblemished value for your car. Don't settle for less.
Example, if your car was worth $10K (random value) prior to the accident, and it'* NOW worth $8K with a bad carfax, who'* ponying up the $2k difference in value?
