Pat, we're talking about how the COWL would factor into an intercooler. Not the underside of the hood.

Nor did he state which intercooler he chose, either by brand or style.

The subject here is how the cowl functions, and how it relates to the intercooler. The cowl doesn't.

The cowl was for the CLEARANCE, not performance....I dont know if you misunderstood me or something! But he just wanted more room....

Ok....got it.

The name is confusing. When you call it a cowl hood, I expect it to be vented and open towards the windshield.

Is that cowl wide enough for the SC? Is the cowl strong enough to support the structure of the hood after cutting?

Just asking questions in case they haven't been asked or answered before. I'd hate to see all that ***-busting work fold in half. I know what'* involved to make it look that good.

It is opened in the rear...completely open...and there should be no clearance issues once its cut out...there are 2 layers to the hood...we're cutting both layers open underneath the cowl, but anything that goes beyond the scoop we're only cutting the bottom layer... and yes there shouldnt be any strength issues either...the scoop itself is 5 layers of fiberglass plus everything we used...so there shouldnt be any issues after that!

ya i am only having them cut from the front of the supercharger housing to the back open end of the cowl(windshield). from the front of the hood to the front of the supercharger will not be cut. i only need enough cut to let the supercharger stick up a lil when i get the 2 1/2" intercooler. i'll try to get pics when its on the car with the hood opened and with the hood closed ASAP.

Tommygloves has an IC with a genV on top of it and from what i've seen didn't cut under the hood at all.
