VIA PM...
Hi Mike, New to all this and not sure if I post a question here so here goes...I have a gmc conversion van "97". Has a new starter about a year ago. When I go to start it I have battery power but when I turn the key I get nothing...no sound at all. The lights, radio is all good but no crack just dead silence. Any idea on what it could be. I am a woman on a mission as you take away my van it'* like being stranded on an island without the pina colada!! Any thoughts would make me a very happy gal! Thanks
Can any of you fine members give Donna a hand here? And no, not one of these
.

I would say make sure battey has the proper voltage in it. I have seen the starter become not grounded. The starter grounds where it bolts to the engine block i have seen it become dirty and not get a conection. The best way to rule that out is to take the negative side of a set of jumper cables hook one end to the neg side of the battery and the other end to the starter housing. Dont do anything with the pos one. Then try to start it. Also you could check to see if you are getting any voltage on the little wire that hooks to the starter. If not it the contol that is causing it not to start. One big thing is check all your fuses.
