this time of year it could be anywhere from a couple days to a few weeks for evap. a bunch of parameters have to be met temp, time, fuel level etc...

evap takes the gas fumes from the tank and vents them into a charcoal canister then when the engine is running it releases them into the intake. the problem is testing the system, gm made it way to sensitive so any little crack in a vacuum line or just barley dry rotted gas cap oring will set off. and theres probably 20 orings and 20ft of hose and a bunch of different components that can fail and as the car gets some age you can see whats going to happen

Based on your reference to Kms and the types of e-test results you are posting, it sounds like you are in Canada. If you are, the shop that performed the e-test usually provides an indication of what caused the failure. Were there any notes on your e-test results.

Sounds like he is trying to scam more money out of you.
I always try to tell people, try to spend as much as possible on a OBD2 scanner. You will save many a headaches in the future.

i have to scanners but they dont tell you if the engine is having problems the one does data logging
the hand held i have is a 3130 from Innova
the one for the laptop is a HPTuners and neither tells you or gives me ranges that the sensors should be right so i have no idea what the ranges the sensors should be etc
so it doesnt tell me if the cat is failing etc
