Someone has the itch to start a project. Will be nice to track your progress.

Yea, that itch has been bugging me for quite awhile. Let'* just hope I can actually start it. Unlike the last itch that'* sitting down in the basement(Ported/Polished supercharger for the Bonneville). Friggin 6n1 work schedule.

the 5.7 has to have 65psi and the new delphi mpfi just to run right, i would have just started with a 5.3. whats the pressure of the 4.3, is the pump the same?

Everywhere I have read, the stock 4.3 fuel pump will feed a 5.7 or 5.3 just fine. I think I even seen one post somewhere that the injectors themselves are the same size, but just 2 more of them.

Oh, I don't even want to think of a 5.3 swap. I seen they are more difficult than the bigger 5.7.

it may be slightly more difficult at first, the only problem i can think of is adapting the metal line to the one like the 5.3 has but im sure they make adapters. possibly have to get a pcm and harness. but the 5.7 will need some figuring as well. but you start with a base with 50 more hp and the lsx family is way more responsive to mods, where the 5.7 has a flaky fuel system that limits just about anything. unless you spend a ton to put aftermarket stuff from the manifold up.

No, my existing 0411 pcm can handle 4.3, 5.0, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 etc.

And the existing 4.3 harness needs 2 more wires for the extra injectors, coolant temp sensor extended and I think something with the knock sensors. More research needed.

The mounts will work, but a different bracket will be needed to accommodate the mounting holes so the engine will sit more forward/center. Otherwise the distributor will hit the firewall. Unless I take a 20lb sledge and relocate the firewall, LOL.
