I'm pretty sure he knows, lol. I do think its pretty awesome he posted here though!
I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of this car! I would have thought gas prices would be cheaper out there, considering transportation of fuels doesn't have to travel as far. How much does fuel cost?
By the way, welcome to GMForum!
hi! i am from south africa. we have had lumina'* from 2002 i think, kind of forgot, in two specs, a * and ss. the * was a V6, not sure about capacity as they wasnt common and wasnt interested in them. the SS in the older shape was a 5.7 litre V8 (LS1) motor, the newer ones (2007-current) has a 6.0 litre that produces 270 kw and 530 nm of torque. thse are great cars with alot of potential, i am extreamly happy with mine. the car is cheap here for its class as other V8'* such as C63 and M3 sell for R750 000 + and the lumina is just around R450 000! we have a good few on the road but the bad thing for us is fuel consumption as fuel prices are quite high and car gets very thirsty when driven hard( in my case, all the time).
By the way, welcome to GMForum!

im aware that you are not from here. I'll get some pics up soon, just waiting to get my laptop sorted. we have 95 RON unleaded that sells around R7.88, nt sure about exchange rates so don't know the price in dollars, should be around 1 dollar. how much is fuel there?
on this side of the world we die for the cars you have there and try our best to import them but customs and taxes are high. im quite surprized that the lumina is not out there maybe under the pontiac badge. we are only starting to get similar cars here nlow, eg. the Nissan GTR is the FIRST GTR to be releast here, all the rest of the skylines and supras, even RX7'* are imported by the owners themselves.

The articles are old, before GM'* demise, and "not going to happen here". Thats was 4 years ago, and a market across the world. Yet we seem to have alot of "arm-chairing" going on here about that never came out here.

It'* a Holden Storm and GM is concentrating on bringing whats left of the American market back home. The Regal began in China yet came home. The Cruze, in India. I don't see Obama Motors bringing overseas efforts back to our shores at this time. Just my IMO.
The Holden Storm was sold in the Mid East as a Lumina. It really had nothing to do with the Lumina we had. It was merely a marketing rename. Lets come out of the dark, out of the past and welcome to 2011 America. A member from South Africa is very cool, Welcome! We have members around the world but I don't think we have one for South Africa before. I believe you are talking of gas in one liter increments. We pay near $3 per gallon which is near 4 liters for our gas here.

sorry guys, forgot to thank you for the wam welcome! this is my first time im posting in a american forum. and yes, petrol/gas is sold in 1 litres. fuel prices there are very low! if it was that price here, everyone will have V8'* here as it is there is alot.
well just to tell you about the cars we prefer for playing around on the streets, almost every racer has owned/owns a citi golf, basically it is a mk1 golf with facelifts, these thrash bigger cars such as big power V8'*! most common comparison is to M3'*, E46 and E9X, on a 1/4 mile, these little toys are almost uncatchable if you meet the right ones! that just a little about street racing here. we all wish it could be as good as american street racing!
just by the way, fastest lumina here runs a 10.5, thats just supercharged, new pistons and connecting rods, lots of work to be done, it'* still on 100% street legal tires and stock body(interior still intact). thats pretty fast for us here

Well, the new 2011 Caprice cop car that'* coming will be nice, but, I've also have heard that there will be a civilian version of this vehicle, and, it will also be called the Caprice. That should be fitting, as Chevrolet already has the Impala. I have also seen photos of the civilian version, and, it does look very nice....IMO
