Is this the same vehicle as in this thread?

It looks like we're still waiting on answers over there:

Have you verified the antenna is receiving? What exactly have you checked?

I have been told that this year model is the only year that has receivers in the door panel switches. they are very expensive, so I would like to be sure they are the problem before I purchase them.

Thread closed so nobody is tempted to bump a thread that is more than six months old.
. . . and today'* question:

So . . .

Very interesting that your posts are exactly a year apart to the day (or 1.04166667 years apart to the minute). I'm curious; Is this a coincidence?

I have been told that the 2005 chevy silverado does not communicate with key fobs through the BCM, but thst the key fobs actually communicate through the switches in the door panels. is this correct?

Also went through reprograming procedure, which seemed to do what it should as far as doors locking and unlocking. but still key fobs don't work. the reason for the one year absence was because of serious health issues.

all doors shut, hold down unlock button, turn ignition switch on, off twice; at which time the door locks unlocked. then i tried programming the key fobs by holding both lock and unlock buttons down at the same time. with no results.

Your fob may be bad.
