It'* not so much a traction issue. Everything about the vehicle is designed to work under a given spec of weight. Too much weight can cause braking issues, premature wear/tear on the engine and transmission, stability issues... list goes on.

I realize that. Obviously towing puts stress on everything. The two biggest overlooked components are the weight of the tow vehicle, and the brakes. At >4,000 lbs, a full size Caddy has the mass to pull heavy stuff and stay planted. It also means it'* got pretty big brakes already. My car is rated to tow 7,000 lbs. Traction is often an issue for any 2wd at a boat ramp.

My point to the OP, and any future onlookers doing research, is that a full size Caddy can pull a fairly heavy load without issues, and when talking about pulling a boat, traction becomes a challenge with 2wd, or even 1wd really, and skinny tires.

Are you sure you have the TH350? IDK but I would have thought Cadillac would have used a TH400 in a car with 400 ci and that weight. Beautiful car BTW, looks like it was well taken care of! How many miles on her?
