I have a 2011 Buick regal with 25k mile, the car makes a ticking noise when running for a while and even when it'* turned off, could it just be the heat shield, no check engine light, I'm concerned because its not the normal crackling noise u get when the exhaust is cooking it'* the same click every few seconds then goes away after the car is off for about 10 minutes

Sounds like the exhaust or something is still cooling.

Oh, my bad, I misread your first post. It'* possible its a solenoid valve opening/closing. But with a noise like this, its probably best to get it up on a rack and have someone look for it while its running. Noises are very difficult to track down, especially if I can't hear it. LOL.

Once in a while my Pk Ave had a clicking too.
Turned out to be an electrical relay about to go on the fritz..took a while to find out it was the AC clutch relay, under hood fuse panel, occasionally going rogue.
