Default piston rings

piston rings: Is MAHLE a good brand

MAHLE / CLEVITE 42101CP Premium; Set; Chrome Top Ring Info
Ring Material: Carbon Steel / Cast Iron / Stainless Steel; Facing: Chrome / Chrome / Chrome; Axial Height: 1.2mm / 1.5mm / 2.0mm; Ring Type: RF-13U / THG-10UF / CP-20; Shallow Groove
it is around $74 Canadian. It doesn't clearly say but is this for all rigs for 1 piston or all rings for 4 pistons (see attachment if you can tell)

The picture shows 20 rings. I'd bet this is all rings for all pistons.

The description for mahle brand says shallow groove. What does that mean..Should I be concerned as the OEM does not say this.

Probably talking about the groove on the piston. I don't think there were different groove depths but never know. You should probably discuss with them before ordering.

I called up the Local GM dealership. They had no idea. I then asked them how much piston rings cost and they told me that they had 4 different part number so you must need a different set of rings depending on what cylinder..Does that make any sense? I would have thought the set of rings for each of the 4 cylinders would be identical.

I can get Mehle rings for almost half the price of GM rings. Anyone use this brand before and is there any chance that it may actually be better than GM product or is it always better to go with GM.

It doesn't make sense that they use different rings for different cylinders. I think it is a coincidence that they happen to have the same number of types of rings as you have cylinders in your engine. Pistons and rings are identical.

I think it'* too early to trust ChatGPT for this type of thing, unless it promises that when things go wrong it will fix them for you.

If you are talking about Mahle, I've heard of them and I think they're good.
