if you clean the iac, the idle learns on its own when you drive it, it might be a little rough but doesnt take that long

replacing the iac with a new one and will clean the throttle (just in case) .. still no need for some idle relearn procedure ?

no all gms after 96 just auto adjust for most things, within a set range

As far as I remember, the idle learn procedure was just done on late 80'* and early 90'* , 2.8'* and 3.1'*....

all the vehicles i had in that period had a 2.8 or 3.1
