On another note I would have the Buick powertrain anyday over the Chevrolet V6 Powertrain... The 3100 and 3400 V6'* have always had issues with piston slap, GM has made attempts to correct the problems, but they have not been fixed... I remember years back GM went to a teflon coated pistons in the 3100... But I believe its still a problem... But at the same time I have seen these 3100'* go 150,000 + miles with no real trouble... But I'd still rather have the Buick 3800... But in a Pontiac, I never really cared much for the buicks... I'd take the GP, or Bonneville before any buick...

Buick was kickin butt in the 80'* selling lots of cars mainly because of the power train but also the 2dr. LeSabre, Riviera, and Regal were damn sexy cars. Winning race cars and race engines, then all of a sudden _ _ _ _ _ _ nothing ?
As far as my preference for styling goes its like this
Gen I FWD H -
1 LeSabre
2 Delta
3 Bonneville
Gen 1 FWD C -
1 Park Ave
2 Regency
3 DeVille
Gen 1 FWD E -
1 Reatta
2 Toronado
3 Eldorado/Riviera-Riviera/Eldorado depends on my mood
Gen I FWD W -
I get confused but the TGP was the car to want for, all looked different and had great charactor of their own so I really have no favorite. However the later Regal wins out on accout of - the Buick Drivetrain and I would never buy a Buick with a Chevy drivetrain.
Gen 2 FWD H -
1 Delta 88
2 Bonneville
3 LeSabre
Gen 2 FWD C -
1 ParkAvenue,
2 ?,
3 98 Regency NOT , The Seville STS would be my choise of high dallor GM'* in another life
Gen 2 E if thats what they still were -
Riviera/Aurora - Aurora/Riviera depends on my mood, the Eldorado is kinda kool, but kinda strange with the NorStar who cares ?
Gen 3 H if that what they are?
1 Aurora
2 Bonneville
3 LeSabre NOT
Gen 3 W -
1 GP
2 Intrigue
3 Regal/Century
4 Chevys NOT
The Seville STS would still be my car of choise if I were rich it just looks great and is a great silioutte of the 86-91 2 dr. LeSabre.
Must really have hurt not to be the first :o The Seville and 2dr. Lumina got the LeSabre 2dr. looks five years after and then not until they deleted the damn butt kickin Buick - damn thats gotta hurt Seriously not as bad as we Buick and Oldsmobile fans are hurting though. Theres just nothing left.
How about this - "Take a look at the new Impala SS - powered by Buick" - " The Buick drivetrain "it will be here at Chevy now because we wont let Buick design a sexy or racey car ". :(
Edit: Jr - I was going to put it in columns like that but tried to save room, made sence to me. I've got to get out of this one somehow, I really dont have the energy to spare that seems to be necessary to be understood.

Hi
Steve, what you reported as "shortcomings" on your LSS is simply your own opinions, formed on your own particular LSS. I have no such observations on mine, and would select this car over any of the notorious Chryslers of the 80'*, or even of a lower end Buick of the 90'*.

Man ! when did I say I would chose a Chrysler from the 80'* over our LSS ? I bought the LSS - what is it you dont get? My Regal is quitier and will out handle mine or your LSS which only makes sence, its smaller therefore more agile. The old 82 NY is like riding on a cloud, not really a issue except to you. Thats the way those old luxury sedan no matter what breed were designed to be. I dont know why I can hear the tires on our LSS so well but I can. Its got Regatta 2'* on it, I dont know, the Regals got some cheap old Daytons or Coopers on it. The LSS certainly has all the same padding that all of them have, I dont know why, its either the tires or acoustical because the car is still tight. This much I do know - its not inline with the fine luxury sports sedans nor is the price tag, thank goodness.
What is it you dont understand that I have written, I know - you just like to make me work hard, I learned that a long time ago. You only hear what you want to. Will you be happy if I say my Grandfathers car was a POS ? Well they werent and I wont ! Nor was the 89.
How did I know you'd be the kind to pick apart my phrasing or punctuation ? Hmm - - - let me guess. Will you corext me spelin' nex ? I do much better with my writting than I do in person, many a good man has had troubles following along because I jump around or skip things. Only human Mr. we all got flaws. Just like the LSS.
I can only imagine your next ridicule or technical correction or misinterpretation. Bring it. I guess I just have to let you wear me down again until I give up and say what you want to hear.

Hi
The 82 New Yorker was based on the Dodge Diplomat....and the ride was excellent for a platform more suited for a police cruiser or taxi cab than as a family car. Things were so bad in those days for Mopar, that I would be surprised if more than 30% of them ever ended up in civilian attire. But if thats your thing, than God bless, there is nothing more need be said.
As for the Regal handling better than a LSS, if your talking about a parking space...of course. That should be a no brainer...as its a smaller car. As far as the road handling is concerned, I drove them years ago..and as I recall, they were competent family cars but nothing beyond that.
With the 3800, they would have served me well, but the bland styling turned me against them. The models I drove had that god awful split bench with its lack of lumbar and lateral support which would have been hell on wheels for me. But if you dont mind these things, than good for you.
I prefer the buckets in the LSS with its lateral and lumbar supports. I would know about the importance of this as I drive over a thousand miles every week, and the split bench seats in those cars would have been torture.
As for your spelling, first things, first.
All kidding aside...please just edit your posts down into pertinent paragraphs, and then edit them further for proper sentence structure and clarity of thought. I am not saying this to be mean spirited..just trying to offer some pointers in helping you get your ideas across to other people.

Oh my friggin god you are so insulting demeaning ignorant dense and arrogant it just blows my mind. Well over the line you can pull anything and theres no way of proving how wrong you are. You will stop at nothing and will continue to insult me and pick apart everything like you are the ultimate authority but you know what - the proof is right in my driveway and its a damn good thing you are not. You know nothing about me Mr. or what I have done in my life and the rest of the people I have surrounded myself with and I only say that because you seem to think you are the only one in this conversation that has been to the rodeo and ridden the bull. I have openly stated only a few of the things that keep the LSS and many other domestic cars from being the world class luxury sport sedan that you claimed the Aurora had no place being but the LSS did. And from there and for that you have insulted me , continously. Just what is in this for you anyhow ? Just like starting with only two small opening with which to cool and when corrected and pointed out that there was that other huge opening you waffeled around it until you had enough technicalities to personally critisize and demean me for that you never had to admit that the huge opening was there and you forgot to think about it way back many post earlier when the whole thing began. I have to now check out of this one because it is pointless for me to stay on this topic and be insulted - endlessly. Anyone wanting to know the truth about the LSS buckets or maybe the full size Buicks and Pontiacs are the same (I dont know)just sit in one and see how easy it is to slide your back from side to side because there is nothing there unless you call waist support laterally held. Then make the trip to a Regal Limited and see if the 60/40 does not hold you tight. Also if you dont have the F41 suspension I would love a good mountain road run with company for a change regardless of the outcome unless it involved the cops.I have now been accused of being a liar and treated like I am making thing up as I go when I only began by mentioning the things that I was disappointed in about our LSS. I just dont get it the point of all these insults. That is actually a lie, I do get it , completely because as I say this is not my first rodeo.
