High beam headlight operation

Now comes the time when I must open my mouth and insert my foot.
Tonight I discovered it IS a pull-back switch. I just wasn't pulling back far enough to "click" the high beams on! This stalk travels farther than other cars I've had (even GM'*) and it takes a far amount of backward pressure to switch the lights over. The click is kinda quiet and doesn't always sound, but the high beams work fine after all.

So, at the end of the day the problem was the loose nut behind the steering wheel. (just kidding of course) I'm glad you figured it out.

when your stalk starts to bend even a little, dont lock them on anymore. my girlfriends impala had the same problem as you. her stalk had just a tiny bit of flex but we didnt think anything of it..... until the brights got permanently stuck on. i was forced to replace the stalk in the middle of winter after sourcing one from a you pull it yard.... in the middle of winter. lol
