i use carb cleaner on iac'*

well i bought a gasket and took it off but it really didnt look dirty, I cleaned it up anyway so we shall see.

UUUGGG came back on today...so its been off for 18 days ....Not sure what to do, I really hate to spend 100.00 on the part if its not that...

Did you test the solenoid? Did you clean the pintal? Did you inspect the EGR tube?

well i asked this ? before with never a straight answer wth is a pintel ?? I took it off and cleaned the bottom and the spring loaded device but nothing was real dirty ?? What am I looking for on the tube ?? If you can give some instructions that would help.

The pintel is the part the closes off the EGR. Look for cracks in the EGR tube.

humm ok is it the spring loaded somewhat pointed item ?? If it is I did clean it and again nothing was very dirty. I will look the tube over but from what I see its fine...If so what then ??

If your still getting codes, and you have checked everything, you may need to just replace the EGR. It'* a simple set up, a tube from the exhaust manifold, a valve controlled by a solenoid, and another tube going in to your lower intake manifold. I have a whole EGR setup here if your interested.

would i need the whole tube and all or just the egr ?? If my tube was bad would the light stay off a few months then come back on? How much would you want for one that you have ?? Thank you
