Oookkk, i tried install the crankshaft with new bearings and assembly grease but soon as i tightened everything in spec, crankshaft wouldnt budge, solid as a rock.
I think i did pretty nice job cleaning everything but i will do it again tomorrow. Also, im gonna plastigauge the crankshaft bearings..
Also we came to conclusion that the camshaft bearings were fine and i will not change them. Not a single scratch on them.

Just because they are not scratched does not mean they are not worn beyond tolerance. If you have excessive tolerance, this will have an effect on oil pressure when the engine is hot.
Again, build it right the first time, or don't do it at all.

Im going to do it anyway because its not my engine, and it has gone wrong already because im not allowed to order all the pistons.
The bearings simply cant be wrong size since they are std size and the original bearings were std. There should be bigger clearance still than on the new engine from the factory because crankshaft is probably slightly worn from the factory.
If i cant get the crankshaft to spin freely tomorrow, im gonna take it to local machine shop and let them grind crankshaft to correct size.
And the cam bearings were really fine, im not gonna bother. Like the owner. Im not deciding the faith of this engine. Oil pressure was fine with the old setup.
Yeah, i know, stupid build but what can you do.. If this was mine, i would build it correct.
First crank bearing (new) was spinning fine but second and third are binding. Fourth and fifth i didnt even check because it wont matter anyway at this point.

Probably on monday im calling to machine shop and ask for prices. It obviously needs some work before i can slap it together. But yeah, learning. I have all winter to do this. Once the bottom is done, rest of the engine is easy.
I also started a mk1 caddy project with my friend, old 1.6D is going out and 1.9TDI agr engine is coming in. Tomorrow picking up the donor Skoda Octavia.
