Brake line fitting questions
I have recently purchased a 2003 buick LaSabre with a v6 3800 engine. One of the brake lines running from the master cylinder to the abs pump is leaking. In attempting to remove the line from the abs pump I damaged the 14 mm head fitting even though I used a flare wrench. I ended up having to clip the line above the fitting and drive on a 14 mm socket and use 3/8 extensions plus a breaker bar to remove it. I had a shop make a new line using flexible copper nickel line. before I could get the fitting back in tight enough I finished rounding the head off and had to cut the new line above it and do the whole socket/extension/breaker bar thing again to remove it. My question is what thread size are the fittings going into the abs pump. My local dealer says that 2003 parts are discontinued, and both local autoparts stores have fittings that are close but not exact. Any info on sizes or links to parts would be greatly appreciated thanks.

If you have been threading the wrong-threaded fitting into it, the ABS module is likely damaged.

It might be the answer to your question on thread size and pitch.
