That is odd, that is the same ICM used on my 96' PA, and it has the same 3800 II motor as your car, also RockAuto had that part listed for your model/year.
I wonder if you have to have the ICM labeled T-Series...
If so I was unaware that there was a different style ICM for the 3800 II.

I just looked at pics of each part, and the tabs look to be the same on both.

Here is a pic of the one listed T-series, it looks the same as far as the tabs go.

not the tabs the coils slide over. the little tabs on the multiwire plug that would keep you from installing backwards. may just be wrong part. only info on icm are the numbers stamped on back 9462 below that 3AB below that USA. trying to google that does not help much. if i type ignition control module 3AB i get an autozone ad for a 1992 mercedes that looks almost identical

Those are the tabs I was referring to, from left to right, the top and bottom of both are 2-1 then 2-1, by that I mean 2 little plastic tabs protruding, then, 1, then 2, then 1.

D1977A is the part number of the one you ordered, kind of sounds like he may have sent you the wrong part number.
The 9642 would be more of a part identifying number then 3AB, I tried searching for both, and could not find any parts.
Do you have any way to take a pic of the tabs of the ICM, and post the pic?

Pic is a bit blurry, but it does look like 1-1-2-2, instead of 2-1-2-1, he must of sent the wrong one, it is good that he responded quickly, and is sending you out another one, hopefully this one is the right one!
