96 Park Ave Air Struts

Also, Rockauto.com has all the struts you can eat. You should see both. I ended up cheaping out on a set of Gabriels, and they seem to do the job good enough, and the struts actually hold air, which is leaps and bounds ahead of what I had before.
If you are serious about getting up on the wheel and driving, Monroe would probably be the way to go.

The reason to fire the compressor is so that the bag lays properly. If you just extend the strut, the airbag could get pinched when the car gets put back down. I had that issue, and you can ruin new struts. Pinched airbag is immediately obvious by a complete lack of suspension movement, usually resulting in rattling of your teeth.
If it went down fine, you will prolly be fine. Maybe throw a bunch of weight back in the trunk when done to make it resettle the airbags.

It kind of looks like it is sitting a little low, mainly on that side I replaced, but of course I only got to do that one side.

I decided to raise the side with the new air strut, and turn the key and wait for the compressor, I did this twice, then lowered the car, now that side'* height looks right, the other side has a dry-rotted air bag, when I raised the other side I could feel the bag, and it was easy to tell it was bad, so I'll replace it as soon as we get some cooler weather.

WilliamE, you did it right by taking the whole strut out, and ordering new upper mounts. Sorry to bring this post back up, but I'm new and just reading old posts. When installing rear struts, or any struts for that mater you should get new upper strut mounts and/or strut bearings, it'* just cheap insurance, plus it is easier to work with all new parts. I don't think quick struts are available for the rear H bodys, but they are the way to go if you need new struts, easy peasy.

I'm still waiting to replace my rear driver side strut, it has been either too hot, too humid, or raining, so I'll still post again when I am done, as I plan to take the car somewhere level, then check the rear ride height, and cross reference with my manuals specs for rear ride height.
I am happy that I had to replace the mounts, when I looked at the old mount compared to the new, I could tell that the old strut mount was slightly worn on the upper rubber ribs on the mount, and it was resting on the lower rubber rib-lets or whatever you call them.
I am assuming that is because the old strut mounts were a bit worn.
I do still wish I had known I could get quick struts for my rear C Body Park Ave, but at least now I know that is an option.

i dont like quick struts, not only the cost but you know you have the right springs with equal sag. who knows whats on the new one. there are a bunch of different spring rates between for example the h body front from the 8cyl gxp to the soft park ave, i doubt they have the Right ones for each

Makes rear struts a cakewalk.

I finally got around to pulling my rear driver side strut out to see if I could get this strut mount nut broken free like I did the last, but it has fought me till I have gotten a blood blister, so does anybody know where I can buy thee strut mount spacer, jounce washer, or whatever it is called?
I am searching the Nalley Buick Parts site, and so far I can find a pic of the similar part, for the front. but I cannot find the rear one..
It is #2 in this pic, but it is for the rear strut, not the front as shown in the pic.
