Not trying to get in the middle of this pissin contest, just a comment on the picture in post #17 of the instrument cluster. If conditions were as described by the poster I would expect to see a higher coolant temperature, 1K on the tach is high for a hot idle also. Of course the gauges may be way off so that brings into question the accuracy of the OP gauge too, just sayin.

A mark below 200 is about the same as mine was before I upgraded the radiator with a 195 degree thermostat. If it'* like mine probably drifts to about 200 when the fans kick on and bring it back down.

Idling at 1,000RPM is high though. Not sure what that'* about.

Closer look at the temp gauge does show the 200 mark at left of center, my bad. And yes 1000 rpm at idle is high especially when the gear selector is showing the transmission in 1 with the brake engaged I would assume.

That got me to thinking: perhaps it was torqued up a bit for some reason. I'll see what difference I see on mine doing the same thing when I drive it later.

Yeah, all warmed up from 35 miles of driving, come to a stop at my house, and the oil pressure is a bit below 40 on the cluster gauge. Like the needle is touching the mark for 40 with its right side. Still in gear, run the engine up to 1000RPM and the oil pressure goes up to dead-on 40PSI. Nothing else moves (except the tach).

Interesting.
