2011 Regal battery Drain

2011 Regal battery Drain
All the sudden the battery was dead. I charged it up using a slow charge. 5 amps for about 20 hours. All was well for 2 days. Day 3, dead battery. The battery is only a year old. I pulled the battery (still dead) and went to walmart to test it. After 20 minutes they said it was fine. I'm skeptical about this 20 min charge but who knows... So, I got home and ran a battery drain test using a multimeter. In the engine compartment the "infotainment" fuse was drawing 1.8 amps. The fuse box inside the car had a fuse at .89 amps. I'm guessing 2.7 amps draw is A LOT... Too much? if so, why would the infotainment do that? I've had the car for 5 years and not had a single issue with it. I take that back, the only issue I have with the regal is the infotainment system. It never saves my settings. It puts my time zone as east coast no matter how many times I change it. There are a few other weird issues with the infotainment but they don't bother me too much. Not sure what my next step is. I'd rather not take it to a dealer. A few years back I was going to have the infotainment system updated but they wanted almost 200 bucks which seemed a lot to me for a software update. Now I'm wondering if an update would stop the current draw when parked? I suppose I can pull both fuses and use a bluetooth speaker with my cell phone but obviously, I'd like to get to the bottom of it.
Thanks for any insight in advance.

Lead acid car batteries generally do not fair well/last much longer when drained right down.
It would be best to get your battery re-charged again, and then load tested to prove it'* still acceptable.
What is the output voltage from your alternator?
Having a 1.8 amp draw from the infotainment center is not acceptable.
Even tho i do not see any similar issues online re this drain, it would be best to try to get the wiring diagram of this circuit.
Anyone here have access to the wiring diagram for this member?

I think he needs to verify the infotainment is going to sleep first...

How old is the battery?
How many miles on the car?
What is the voltage measured at the battery with the ignition off?
What is the voltage measured at the battery with the engine idling?

How many miles on the car? 90k
What is the voltage measured at the battery with the ignition off? Depends. This started with a dead battery. It'* been charged and drained for a week now. After a full charge 12.2 after sitting for a few hours 7.5 etc. I just got back from Autozone and the battery tested good.

After a few hours, I don't like 7.5 volts. Even with a 1.5 amp draw, that battery should still show 12 volts even after a day. Seriously, stay away from Autozone, most of those kids don't know anything.

Agree w/ Mike ^
I'd recommend a 2nd opinion, having another load test done at a battery shop. How many CCA is your current battery?
If possible always try to find the largest CCA possible.(800+ CCA)
AGM (absorb glass mat) car batteries are deep cycle & will recover better than any lead acid, and perform better in cold.

How long are you waiting when testing the draw for the info center? Remember, these modules tend to take awhile before going to sleep.
Can you give it a couple hours in between testing?
