2008 Buick Allure Chronic Ignition Module Failures
I have an 08 Buick Allure (Canadian version), with the 3.8L engine. It has 135000Km (83000 mi) on it at present. I am on the 5th ignition module. The first 3 were replaced by the dealer, one under partial warranty, the other two I paid for, about 800.00 each time. I now have bought 2 from CarQuest, the first was 150.00. it has warranty as long as I own the car. And I have replaced it under the warranty. I don't know what causes the failure, suspect maybe heat? Makes you nervous about taking the car on long trips. I really like GM products, but electrical has been a headache, on this one, my 1991 Buick Park Ave. And my 1988 Oldsmoble 98. That one was the worst.

Engineers should have to work on them before designing them. Heat is right. They mount them in just about the hottest area.

Have you tested all of the coils?
I've heard of folks having luck making these do better with some thermal paste to transfer heat to the mounting plate.
Welcome aboard!
