2007 Lucerne Stuck Oil Pan
I need to take oil pan off a 2007 Lucerne (The oil drain plug was rounded off when we bought the car and there is not enough room between the plug and the transmission pan to get anything on it to work with it)..... I have all the bolts out of the pan BUT they pan has sealant on it and it won't come off............ any "tricks" in pull the oil pan off???

I spent 2 hours this evening trying to pry it off and it would not come.... from the manufacture this oil pan has no gasket (one can be ordered for it and you can convert it to have one) but gray permatex was used to put it on and now it will not come off...... I used 2 different pry bars, two different paint scrapers try to break the hold, a plastic hammer, and a 2x4 that I used a regular hammer on trying to get it to come loose and it would not..................

If you have every bolt out, that sealer might be on there really good. You might have to pry it off in many locations so you don't mess up the pan and block. Prying in one or two spots really hard might damage stuff. Pounding sounds like it won't work at all on this one without damaging something.

We used a putty knife and tapped it in and run it down as far as we can. Use wood or plastic shims to pry with.

I checked several times to make sure all the bolts were out! There were no extra bolts other than the ones at the top of the pan and the ones near the Harmonic
