2000 Buick LeSabre 3.8L V6 Brakes - front
I am replacing the rotors and pads on the front of my car. I have cleaned the bracket, pins, boots, and rubber bushing. I used Lucas No. 2 Red "N" Tacky on the rubber bushing, pins, and internal holes on the bracket. I inserted the one of pin and rubber bushings into the one on the holes on the bracket and it was like it was glued in. I finally got it apart and cleaned of all grease. I tried Permatex No85188 synthetic ultra brake parts lubricant and it was worse. What in the world is going on here? What do other people use?

I have never used the stuff you used, so I can't comment on it.....
Whenever I did a brake job on a LeSabre, I would whizz the contact points of the caliper and the bracket......then I would lightly smear Never Seize on those surfaces......I would lube the sliding pins with the lubricant that ususally came with the shoes.......and lastly I would apply CRC Disc Brake Quiet to the contact points of the back of the pads.......never had a problem....

I've used those greases before. If it doesn't bind, but still moves, then its ok. Its just the consistency of the grease and its designed to be like that.
