Vibration while moving slow turning sharp
I have noticed on a few occasions while manouvering through a parking lot that my car makes a noise while turning hard moving slowly. I can feel the vibration through the car and it feels like its coming from the front. I can also hear a rather loud noise that lasts for only a second. Has anyone else had this problem?? I would take it to my dealership for warranty but I know if it doesnt do it for them they wont even look at it.

Yours would be one of the earliest I've heard off but it sure sounds like your intermediate shaft has gone dry. It seems to affect all GXP'* in time, and other trim levels as well. I would take it in and mention the shaft. Most know the condition already.

The intermediate shaft was just replaced a month ago (for the 3rd time) with the new "u-joint" shaft. The vibration doesnt come while turning the steering wheel but rather when it is held constant on a turn and moving forward slowly. Is that also a symptom of the intermediate shaft?

Doesnt sound like it would be the shaft then. (Unbelievable that you are on your 3rd shaft at 23k miles) More like one of the other steering components is wearing out.

My first shaft went just under 10k miles. I was surprised too. It would be my luck to have something else go so quickly. :( Good thing I have warranty for another year and then GMPP for the following two years!

I've had the same symptoms for a couple of years.....maybe 3-4 times/year. Definitely not the shaft issue. i had that around 20k miles...lubed and no problems since (95k miles now!)

Same here, I know the sound you're talking about. I've tried to reproduce it on demand, but I can't. It does do it just about every time I turn into my driveway. The driveway slopes away from the highway, and if I turn in kinda slow, it will usually do it about halfway through the turn. It only lasts roughly 1 second, it'* quite pronounced with both vibration and sound, but I can't find a spot where it continues longer than the 1 second. If I stop turning, the sound still stops just as quickly as if I don't stop turning.
It'* defiinitely NOT the intermediate shaft, totally different sound/feel. The shaft is more of a "clunking" noise, this is more of a rubbing/belt sliding sound coupled with vibration. I'm not sure it isn't the belt or something of that nature.
My car has done it since I've owned it. Nice to know that others do it too. Thing is, don't know if it'* a problem or just a quirk?

My Aurora used to do the same thing. I read somewhere that id had to do with the power steering hose rubbing against something anyway I am not really sure but thats what I heard.
