kinda defeats the purpose of a fob if you have to lock it with the door open....May as well just use the switch then....
Can you set off your alarm by leaving a window down and locking the car, then a min later unlocking the car from the inside and opening the door?

Maybe it has to do with Passkey-3 ? Maybe the chip is the determinant? Does the car search for the passkey signal nearby? I don't know enough about how passkey 3 works to answer.

Just tested again. My security system most definetly does NOT work. I follwed the "test you system" instructions and no alarm.
Back to the dealership we a go-go.

hmm. well it should go off shouldn't it? Unless, like you were saying, it detects it. Still two bonnies do you have a blinking red light on your dash that lets you know that it is on?

I know about the anti theft light but I thought there was one on top of the dash somewhere strictly for the alarm. =/ So there isnt one. Okay groodwrench called me today to verify the few problems that are wrong with the car and they said they would look into the blinking light not blinking issue. We will see what they say when I pick it up today. =/

I just went and checked mine. Tried all ways with the FOB and the alarm sounded each time.
My GXP has the word "security" in the tach area of the cluster. It will be solid yellow for about 30 seconds and then blinks continuously. After which the alarm is armed.
Maybe something new for the 05 model year.
