Thinking about a rebuilt NorthStar- read this thread
Thinking about acquiring a rebuilt NorthStar?
It is a real good thread about a person trying to replace a N*. I was in a shop in Arizona that does the Norm'* inserts on the N*, I asked him why he didn't use Northstar Performance. He stated guy was undependable and hard to reach. After reading the N* thread, I can see a possible issue about Northstar Performance.
This thread take about 20 minutes, but if it is Sunday morning, cold outside, and you have good coffee- worth a read. BTW- It is 60 degrees in Phoenix right now and raining cats and dogs.

Wow that was quite the N* story. I am at a loss for words.
One thing comes immediately to mind, would the OP not have been better off to utilize a local engine re-builder, than do a long distance crate motor?
Local warranty defiantly has it'* privileges!

i havent read that but i will say you can certainly have issues with those, i would much rather have it locally rebuilt. worked with a guy who had a izuzu vehicross which has a complicated 3.5, he wanted to save some time and get a national rebuild engine because it would only work out to 2-3 weeks. the new one though had issues and ended up taking about 2 months to get another engine
