Default Service theft system + security light - why!!!!

Hey Guy,

I have a 04 Bonnie GXP. My service theft sytem light comes on in the DIC and my Security light stays on. I have seen a lot on here about that possibly being a battery issue. The car starts fine, with the expection of the annoying ding when I put the car in gear because of the light being on. The battery has been run down when putting in a remote start recently. I had the car at a dealership to fix a no start problem which ended up being a code on the security system due to a blown fuse on the ignition switch. I don't believe the dealership checked the battery. Like I said everything in now working, except for the lights coming on. I was just looking for input before I purchase a new battery.

Thanks,

Do you recall what the code was? I did some looking in my manuals about your CTD system. I did see a few references to checking the connections on the DDM, that'* Drivers Door Module. But that'* all I've been able to find so far.

The driver door module under the trim right. I did have to work with that for a factory alarm shut off wire for the remote start. I will have to check that.

Not sure where it'* located, the GXP is not a area I've spent a lot of time on. But ya, check the plug on the DDM, might be loose or corroded.

Just had the battery checked and they said it was fine. They told me that it sounds like a PCM. The PCM will throw the codes like it did, and after throwing them multiple times it will lock me out just like it did. More diagnosing I guess.

a battery load test would easily tell you whether your battery is good. running your battery down is deadly for any module in the a vehicle. make sure you battery terminals are tight after varifing your battery is healthy. the security light is notorious.

if you'd used the module DLPKGM for our Bonneville'* made by Xpresskit you wouldnt have to go in the door

....what module did you use for your remote start usually the old key in a box (556u) will throw service codes, also not hooking up your keysense wire will also throw the system out of wack. doesnt matter whether your using your remote start or not it will say service until you turn the ignition off and then turn it back on.

The light stays on no matter what I do. I have tried resetting it by turning the key off and on and no go. I havn't tried using the remote start in two days and the light still comes on.
