Rusty wheels, before/after
A couple of pix.... couldn't stand the rust showing on the hubs... so pulled the wheels and painted the hubs with Rustoleum BBQ black.... supposed to stand heat up to 1,200 degrees (I think)
Before
After
Actually, very easy... each wheel took about 20 minutes, just be sure to torque the lug nuts to 100 ft/pounds to keep the rotors from warping... the pix below is still the SSEi at this point... we kept it and traded Carolyn'* GrandAm 'cuz she likes it a lot.

This car was built Sept 8, 2004 and has been on a dealer'* lot in Central Wisconsin since Sept 20, 2004... not much demand for GPXs up there I guess. I was very nervous about buying it... I have always ordered cars to spec and never leave my cars outside overnight, so this is quite a change accepting a machine that has been sitting in the sun, snow and rain for 250 days. I went over the car with a fine tooth comb before accepting it (even made 'em put it up on a lift) and the hubs were the only thing that seemed to have suffered from the ordeal. Bottom line was I really like my 2000 SSEi and wanted another Bonneville... and the incentives were fantastic, plus a super trade-in on Carolyn'* 2002 GrandAm GT1.
We've logged about 1,500 miles in the last 10 days and the car seems perfect. I was a tad concerned after taking the yellow (airbag) stickers off the visors that the fabric under the stickers was a different color due to fading of the uncovered fabric... but after a few days I can't see the outline anymore. Oh, I'm also a tad surprised at the fuel consumption... looks like it could be less than 20 mpg highway... (compared to the 24 on the SSEi and 28 on the C6) all burning premium. But, if one is worried about gasoline costs, one has has no idea where the real costs are when it comes to owning an automobile, huh?

I found the same thing when doing a search for my GXP. There were a lot of cars that were sitting on the dealer lots for over 200 days. Not much demand for GXPs anywhere. My dealer found a car in Indianapolis that was only 15 days old. He drove me down ther to pick it up.
Can you post a shot similiar to my sig picture?
thanks
