Unlike the CTS-V which uses the 400HP LS6, the STS-V and the XLR-V will both rely on a Supercharged 4.6L DOHC 32 valve northstar V8. GM isn't saying a think about this engine yet, but we assume the SC is an Eaton Roots-style Blower with an intergrated intercooler. Naturally aspirated the Northstar makes 320 HP, and we expect abotu 425HP with the huffer. Even more thrilling is a more powerful version of the already stout CTS-V, The "CTS-Super V, or the CTS-V Plus" will likely get the LS7 version of the 6.0L all aluminum pushrod making dang near 500 HP, keeping the CTS competitive with such badasses as the upcoming 500HP V-10 BMW M5, and outstripping the supercharged 476HP mercedes E55[/quote}
