Love my GXP,but it needs more HP
I took my new GXP (780 miles) to Kil-Kare Dragway in Xenia tonight, and I was disappointed in the on track performance.Only made two passes. The first was a 15.54@88.73 and the second was a bit better 15.48@90.17.After making my runs I met a nice young man from Columbus. He told me about this website. He also told me to unhook the sensors on the front hubs, and that would fool the traction control system, and improve HP.Does anyone else know some easy mods to make on this 4.6 Northstar.Testing later proved that wheel spin did reduce HP.The GXP seems to run extremely better when the front tires do not spin at all.Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Doug

Welcome to the club!!!! Glad to hear Todd sent you here. Those times aren't too bad, as for mods, you need to wait a little bit, but first make some kinda cold air intake and open up the exhaust. Parts will be coming soon.

Glad you found the site Doug, was good to talk to you this evening. There are rumors of a supercharger being made available for the northstar in the 05 models. I'm sure INTENSE will look at retrofitting that to the GXP as the owner has one now. The exhaust on the GXP is pretty free flowing so I would concentrate on opening the intake (not sure what the stock TB size is but betting 72 might look at porting that to 80 and doing a cold air intake or FWI or ram air. Not a ton of stuff for the N* yet but that will change in the near future im sure.
Welcome and you may want to introduce yourself in the introduction forums.

I'm 99% sure the TB is already 80mm and it'* drive by wire too. I forgot about the exhaust is free flowing, I believe their Corsa mufflers and tips actually, the sound is little quiter though than their aftermarket kits. Mine was louder but cost a small fortune to add, your'* has same free flow design and came with the car. You could put a hi flow cat on, but get some kind of cone filter going.

Watched an episode of 'Trucks' on the weekend on spike tv and Stacy was at the Sema show, anyways there was a tricked out truck with 4.6 northstar with a 112 super charger bolted on
The camera did nothing more than glance at the engine but Stacy went on about the styling of the front entry truck (very cool) and custom paint.

Build up an intake system for colder air, sorta like I did. You don't need to spend 300 bux on some pre fab system...

Get a colder stat.
Northstars use 75 MM TB'* stock, unless this motor is new and different then all the rest...
