intermittent no start.
I have a 04 GXP with 46,000 miles. I have had an intermittent no start twice. The first one happened last September. Shut it off, and then went to restart the car and nothing. Just cranked over. Waited about 20 minutes and it finally restarted. Took it in to the dealership and they suggested a fuel pump. Last week it happened again. Just came back from a 200-mile trip, no problems. Went to move it to get our other car out of the garage and it wouldn't start. Waited about 20 minutes and still wouldn't start. Getting fuel pressure on the fuel rail, but no spark. Had it towed to the dealership. It had a no start then too. They hooked up their scan tool, and then it decided to run. It has been running fine ever since. I have checked the ground connection near the battery. It checks out. I am at a loss.
Dealership says drive it till it happens again and they would try to figure out what'* going on. Not the answer I really wanted to here.
Does anyone have any more suggestions????

I had a GrandPrix that would do that. Got worse over a year and then would happen at least weekly. I noticed it more on hot days or if i'd been driving for more than 30 minutes. Dealership and indep garage could not diagnose (gave me about 100 different possibilities). I finally narrowed it down with the help of the local GP club and replaced my crank position sensor and that did the trick. good luck

I had the same issues in my 1997 SE. No one could figure it out,but I purchased OBDII software and ran the car. It turns out it is the Crank Shaft Position sensor. Replaced it and absolutely no problems any more in starting, and get this my surge issue with my tranny in hot weather (probably not an issue in your car) went mostly away. I think it had a lot to do with misfires being high. The strange timing of the issue is probably due to the temperature of the oil since the sensor lives down at the bottom of the oil pan.
I would throw a code and by the time I would get it to the mechanic, there would be none! Then it would start when cold and then when hot but not when warm. I tested the issue before I replaced the sensor by spraying it with a freeze can and it would start up just fine even if it would normally have to wait an hour normally.
