Hooking up a GM 12 CD changer
Has anyone installed a Pontiac 12 CD Changer in the trunk on a GXP that did not come with one from the factory?.Does anyone know if the wire harness is in the trunk on cars without the CD changer and if so where is it located?I installed one on my 1999 Trans Am and the wire harness was already in the trunk.Just plugged it in and mounted it.Very easy. Also what years CD Changers from GM work fora 2004 GXP and will other GM cars work?I also have XM Satilite Radio. Thanks

We kinda touched on this in an unrelated thread...
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=47072
But, if we're going to get an answer, we probably need a dedicated thread.
I have also installed a GM CD changer in my F-body, using the existing wires.
So, one of the first questions to answer is; where is the CD changer located in the GXP trunk? Does anyone have a picture handy? If I had a clue, then I'd go looking for the wires.

I believe that the CD changer is mounted on the passenger side of the trunk, in the wall, near the top. The carpeted trunk molding is different too and the changer is behind it, with the face sticking out. I have not seen one in person, i am basing this on pics i have seen.

its a fair amount of work, and some special GM Terminals to complete the connections at the Stock Radio
