The GXP in the snow
We got a few inches of heavy, wet snow last night followed by colder temps and lighter, blowing snow and icy patches. Seeing that my GXP is the first non-4wd vehicle I've owned in over 20 years I was a bit nervous. But I have to say I am really impressed with the Traction Control and the brakes of this machine. I obviously don't have the ground clearance of the trucks so deeper snow will probably be a problem, but on the slippery roads it does every bit as good as my 4wd F-150 did. Plus the GXP was not affected as much by the strong side winds. I took the backroads home today and tested the anti-lock a few times. She slowed quickly and in a straight line. Perfect. The front wheel drive and Traction Control also did a great job with very little wheel spin at all, and the spin I did get was intentionally caused.
At highway speeds it was sure-footed and stable.
It would seem the only worry I have now is the other idiots sliding into me.

Just had a major winter storm here in Winnipeg Canada (Over a foot of snow). I too was very impressed with the way the GXP handled in the snowy/icy conditions. I had prepared and put on a set of Dunlop SP Sport M3 winter tires. I had no problem driving through a foot of wet sticky snow. Most cars were allover the place and I was not. I was a little concerned about driving this car in the winter. I thought about buying a winter car but now I am glad I didnt. The car is great but like RemingtonDave says the worry is others hitting you.

Thats good to hear about the GXP.
Perhaps getting an inexpensive earlier Bonneville might be a worthwhile purchase to preserve your wonderful new GXPs.
Anyone for a 94?

Does anyone have the stock tires on their car for the winter, or did you get get snow tires. I am wondering how the stock preformance tires will do in the snow.

My GXP is totally stock including the tires. As you can see from the original post, I'm impressed. With the tires as well as the car.
