GXP Brake Dust = ARRGHH!!
Alright everyone so I have the typical GXP affliction, horrible brake dust. I can wipe off my wheels every day (which I do) and still, the wheels re-coat themselves. I replaced the front pads with ceramics and no help at all, still dust galore. Has anyone found a type of brand of pad or rotor that cuts down on the dust issue? Please advise, my OCD is in high gear and I'm slowly going insane over my always dirty wheels.

Were they pure ceramic? I changed out and the problem stopped. Really don't remember the last brandbrand, got them at NAPA. BTW, the GXP does some serious braking for sure. I need new ones again. that'* 3 pairs of front pads in 50k. I know my long steep driveway doesn't help, and I changed he OEM early... but?????

My pads are Wagners, not a bad brand but I probably need to spend a little more $$$ on them next go around. That might be sooner rather than later because I was looking this morning and the rotors are grooved like crazy. Akebonos here I come.

Rabestos Ceramic ATD1019AC.
$ 47.79 plus shipping at ROCKAUTO.
TurtleWax F-21 spray cleaner does a very good job of releasing what little dust accumulates from ceramic pads.

Okay, here is what I have found for the brake dust issue, oh and my 2004 GXP is at 143k miles.
Change out your rotors to the HI QUality ones that Napa sells, and get a set of CMAX pads from Autozone....the ceramic set.....
My dusting issues from 80k to 143k are way less then when I was in warranty and the dealer kept saying it was normal for an 8cylinder front wheel drive engine.

I agree with Bville GXP. I put a set of Cmax gold from Autozone on my car and my black wheel problem is gone. They stop well and are quiet too. Impressed for $57.
