Driving it in the snow?

Driving it in the snow?
Does anyone have any experience driving their GXP in the snow? Being a new owner I would like to know because Tire Rack has some Bridgestone Blizzaks on clearance ($121 ea). My wife said I can have $500 off the bat to do whatever I want with my new ride. After that I have to wait until tax return time :( Is it worth it to get snow tires or is it fine with the OEM (POS) Goodyear Eagles.
If not what would you spend $500 on off the bat. Obviously can't do new wheels with that money, so it would have to be small. It doesn't need anything mechanical so it would just be mods (new head unit, new floor mats etc.)

Well dont have a GXP. But i do have a 98 SSEI. Stock tires are fine even for the power. As long as your not trying to gun it in the middle of winter (which wouldnt be smart anyways). I would say your prolly fine. As for upgrades im sure one of the other guys can answer that for you. I'm not very versed in that one!

GXP'* are pretty sure footed in the snow, but didnt care for the Eagles on the snow. You can always put them back on in the spring and save the others for winters to come. I get around OK on Goodrich AllSeason gForces. I use Blizzaks on my wife'* car in the winter and love them. Think I'll wander over to tirerack and check them out. Sweet price for 18' winter tires.
Edit: Better hurry. It'* a closeout. LOL I just bought a set. Their own sampling of reviews and ratings about the tire confirms what the wife cars has proved out. Great tire and that'* an awesome price. If your Eagle RSa'* are at all worn, you going to be disappointed to leave them on in the snow. Ice? Forgetaboutit....... Jeeez now I have 12 tires for my GXP. Gforces on the front, the OEM Eagles on the back (still looking good for 45,000 miles on the rear) 4 new Chinese tires I bought for chewing the asphalt @ $ 78 a piece, and 4 new winter tires. I'm feeling warm and cozy!

Drive down here Black and I'll set you up with the chromes you see in my sig. LOL. They are 3 winters old, rusted to bad to show anymore. I thought about painting them black and using for winter wheels. For what I paid for them, its a shame. Aftermarket chromes just dont hold up to the salty winters here. The stock painted GXP wheels do so I'll be looking for a new set of summer chromes and be more careful with them.
Here'* a shot of my 1/4 mile driveway, you can only the final half in the pick. I live all the way at the bottom of this.
Here'* a vid of me going up it snow covered with gForce tire'*.

I've driven mine through the last three winters and didn't have any problems. Even with the harsh winter in Michigan, I never got stuck. The traction control, anti-lock and stability control help a lot. I had an 05 Cadillac STS that got stuck all the time. Couldn't even make it up the drive way most snowy days but this GXP plows through the snow with the factory GY RSA'* without a problem. I'll never go back to rear drive until I move out of Michigan somday.
