I hear ya.
The traditional start of the new model year used to be Sept. , but they're a liitle more "flexible" now.
But they usually play the biggest game with new styles or releases. I can't remember who holds the record for the earliest launch, but it was something really stupid... like February.

could it have been one of the rebadged 04'* i know toyota and dodge are bad for that changing vins and knowing the sluggish sales of the 04 GXP that might be something to take into consideration.

That'* one I haven't heard before, but wouldn't surprise me.
What amazes me, is that even with all the GXPs on the dealer lots, they were still building them in May 2005. (blocker44 - did you order yours, or get it off the lot?)
And I could get virtually whatever color and options I wanted from dealer inventory several months ago!

Weird....
All these GXPs laying around, and GM kept building 'em for the lots. It'* not like they could make that many variations; there were only about 10 options.
No wonder GM'* in trouble.
