Dad'* 89 Cadillac Deville, Help
My father-in-law is having a problem with his battery draining. The shop told him that it was coming from his load leveler. So the mechanic disconnected the load leveler. Dad wants to know if he puts heavy duty shocks on the car if he can keep the load levelers disconnected

From your description and the shops diagnosis, one of the a rear shocks is probably leaking (which is common for a car that age. I had a Park Ave 2 years newer I used to pull the terminal off the air compressor when I got home so I could start the car the next time I wanted to use it. Which wasnt every day. Ya you can buy non air shocks and disconnect the air compressor and the battery wont run down. The rear is most likely to squat though, The aged coil springs will be left top hold up the car. It would be best to replace them as well. may be cheaper just to replace the airshocks. If it'* just a car that is getting him by now, I would just take the time to disconnect the air compressor when the car isnt being used.
