Coolant crossover question
Has anyone attempted replacing the coolant crossover gaskets yet? I don't want to take it in to the shop for parts that cost, what 20 bucks or so? I know it will be very time consuming. But hey, i spent ten hours one day to take a head off of a cavalir to repair stripped out spark plug threads. If not, i'll probably take picks of the whole ordeal and post them here.

You will be a first, for sure. May the force be with you. If you do a decent writeup and photos, I will put it with your name in Tech Info.

I guessing you'll be taking a taxi to work Monday....... J/K!!! Seriously, I should be more active in maintaining my GXP, but after years of burning my hands and scraping knuckles w/other FWD GM products, I'd rather let Caddy tech'* deal with the near 0 clearace issue'* that abound with a transverse V-8 stuffed into a chassis/body designed for a V-6.
Good Luck!

It looks like it is right under the throttle body above the transaxle housing, i bet the most time consuming stuff is taking all the stuff off to get to it, which when the throttle body comes off most of the stuff in the way will be gone. At any rate i have the work truck to take to work

I had mine replaced under my extended warranty (not GMPP) by the local PEP Boys. The technician did an awesome job, no leaks since last winter and it cost $750 to the warranty co. I posted about it when it was done with pics of the bad gaskets.

I have not done this yet. I ran out of money for the gaskets. Its is in the plans though. I don't like the smell of antifreeze! I need to see if there is still a discount code for Rockauto.

I have heard that a few times over the last couple years about those gaskets leaking and then not, and even again. Wonder if the all aluminum engine can flex enough to allow this gasket to randomly leak. Or curdled Dexcool is resealing it. hehehe. I shouldnt start. Someone be the Hero here and take pics for a pretty empty Northstar Tech Section. Please?
