Brake Rotors - where to get 'em?
It looks like it'* been awhile since anyone talked brake rotors.
My GXP is at 97,000 miles and the brake shudder is starting to get annoying. So this spring, it'* time for rotors all around and to touch-up the brake paint.
A set of basic rotors from Autozone or O'Reilleys will run about $260!?
I see some drill/slotted choices on Ebay for as low as $200 shipped (item 330397173822).
For fun, I think I'll go drill/slot. (I do NOT want to get into a discuss on their effectiveness)
So, anybody have any recommendations for a decent deal on rotors?

I put R1 Concepts rotors on the Bonneville when I bought it with 46k miles on it, and I now have 73k with no warping whatsoever. I've overheated my brakes to the point of complete failure with smoke pouring out of the ceramic pads without any warping or cracking, and other members here have also used R1 Concepts rotors with very good results.
The same can be said of many over on the w-body.com forums who have also had great experiences with these rotors. These guys have made a name for themselves in many places.

I'm sure someone else here will chime in with their experience using R1 rotors.

actually the GM rotors are pretty cheap if you buy them from GMpartsdirect.com
i bought new rotors today, cross drilled rotors only... i had slotted and drilled before.. thought id try something different.. i was looking online at most cars that comes with factory performance rotors.. they are never slotted :* weird :/
so i bought new cross drilled rotors with hawk ceramic pads... i hope they do the job...

Where did you get your rotors from, and how much were they?

I'll check my emails later for the websites... But my rotors were 250 canadian dollars shipped to my house.. That'* front and rear rotors.. All 4 pieces... They come with brake pads.. Semi metalic or whatever they are called.. But I rather ceramic... So I'll have an extra pair of pads I guess
And the brake pads were the hawk ceramics top of the line 140 US dollars shipped for all 4 rotors...
So around 400 for all rotors and 2 sets of pads... Not bad at all considering I live in canada... Shipping is a bitch...

Got mine last spring from brakeperformance.com too. Slotted, dimpled anodized black.
Rears 172.52 with ceramic pads delivered
Fronts 200.00 with ceramic pads delivered
Had local shop trun em just a touch to skin the surface before installed. I have been very very pleased with the results. Performance is awesome, no shudder yet and I make em work. Jump on the binders from cruisin altitude and you feel like Jim Carey in the MASK as your cheeks pull from your face!
As for those shimies, I did the front rotors one week and rear the next. The rears impacted the shimmie more so on this GXP than any other car I've had. Not to say the OEM fronts warping everytime you slow from +80 weren't the main source, just the rears surprised me.
