Nope. That time was for the GXP not the GTO. TiVo.... Watched it twice to make sure. I'll see if I can find if/when that program will be on again.

one thing to remember also is that northstar engines are built much tighter than the 3800 so we'll have to see how they perform once they have over 30,000 miles on them. Once they loosen up it may just be a different story about which vehicle is faster..

was it a Bonneville GXP or a Grand Prix GXP? i actually wasnt aware there was a Grand Prix GXP until a guy came by work the other day with one and was talkin about how it had an LS1 in it and stuff, i actually thought he was BSin and told him it was a GTP with a SCed 3.8....but he proved me wrong...and i believe that car with an LS1 albeit a tuned down one, only a bit over 300hp, but i think it would definetely run that time.
thats one sexy car btw

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure anymore... I see the Grand Prix GXP has the 5.3 LS4 in it with around 300 hp.... I accidentally deleted the show so I'll have to wait until next week to be sure. Leeann Tweeden is on the show so I certainly don't mind watching it again!

msn lists the 2005 Grand Prix GXP as having a 5.7L 303 hp V8...which i believe is the legendary LS1, which they decided not to put in the Corvette anymore, but it may live on in the GP.

The GP GXP does have the LS3 not the LS1. The 2003-4 Chevy SSR also had this engine. It'* based upon the LS1, but has an iron block instead of an aluminum one like the LS1-2 engines. That'* about all I know about it.
The LS6 still lives on in the CTS-V as far as I know, which is an LS1 with improved heads, cam and block venting.

The 2005 Grand Prix GXP is a high-performance sedan equipped with more refined interior appointments, distinctive exterior appearance, sport-tuned suspension and a new 5300 5.3L V-8 (LS4) engine producing an estimated 290 horsepower.
