Default Bonne GXP vs. Chrysler 300C test

http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...tml?page=4&c=y
I personally think that there was something wrong with the bonne used in this test. 0-60 in 6.95 is dreadfully slow. Mine runs about 6.4'* with 91 octane. Good test in all though. Shows that the bonne can really dominate in the twisties. So much for that ~mercedes~ chassis.

I agree. They may be quick now. But wait for when they hit 100K and that pin that shuts off 4 cylinders for cruising breaks and the engine needs a total rebuild.

Lets hope not considering GM intends to do that will all their lux cars shortly (they gave it a go, but didnt work out to well in prototype cars) but they think they perfected it now.

Northstar powered cars have something similar, yet its used in situations where the engine tries to save itself. Fuel gets cut off to 4 cylinders and its called Limp Home mode.

As for styling, the new 300'* are oh so very "love or hate" cars. I personally hate the new styling. In my book the GXP looks far and away a better car. Had Chrysler dropped the V8 HEMI powered RWD into the 2000-2004 300M, I'd be all over like flies in ****

Oh well.

300M'* look too sporty for a V8 in my opinion. Plus the V6 in that car did just fine.

Indeed it did, however when I tested several M Specials (btw wicked car..wow!) it just lacked that extra...umph that I get from the Aurora).

It would be a dangerous car (literally) with an SRT engine though!

I just watched a show on Speed the other night that compared the new GTO to a few other cars. One of the comparisons was a 2005 GXP. Their best 1/4 run with the GXP was 14.36 @ ?? mph.... Don't remember the trap speed but I do remember the ET......
