Too much comparison to that ugly bathtub of a Chrysler IMHO. They praised the frame and solidity at least. Best looking new domestic car around though, you can't argue with that... well, excluding the C6. Just came in from a drive actually, N* makes beautiful music pulling away from stoplights, that'* for sure.

Nice!
SUCH a hot car! I'm seriously considering one of these. If my raise comes through, I just MAY have enough for one.
My only major concerns are:
1) Gas Mileage. It'* rated at 17/24, but I heard one owner was only getting 15?
2) Maybe his previous car was pretty speedy from mods, but one owner complained it was slow and/or response time was laggy?
3) I'm not sure I like the taupe interior with all of the black buttons, stereo and climate control units, and carbon fiber accents. Does it really go together very well? I was looking into the White-Gold, which is only available in Taupe. I guess one remedy is to get a color (black) that allows for the grey interior.
4) I like the brushed aluminum dash, but really don't like being able to see all of the black cut-outs for the lights (turn signals, traction control, service engine soon, etc.) during the day.
Anyone (especially GXP owners) have any comments about the above?
Thanks.

2. The 4 speed auto in this thing shifts gears very hard and fast when accelerating. This is as compared to the previous LS Impala with 200hp that I drove and the 285hp Avalanche that I drive. The response in the GXP is auxilarating. Passing is so fun and walking away from other cars at stop lights is so much fun. The car is very quick for it'* heft. With 14" rotars up front and 13" in the back, brake feel is perfect. Very positive and stops on a dime when asked to. For a large car like this in this price range the bonne can hold it'* own.
3. The car from the AOL review has the same colour coordination as my GXP: crimson tintcoat with the tan interior. I like the busy dash and the carbon fibre. White gauges are very stylish as is the aluminum shifter and pedals. Sound system is very alluring and can pump out some good bass and midrange levels. These colours make a very attractive combination. I have had zero bad comments on the colour. Everyone likes it, especially those who don't like red usually. The white-gold tricoat is also very attractive and slightly more sophisticated than the sportiness of the crimson tintcoat. I like both though.
4. I never even look at the dash since I have HUD (heads up display). Makes driving with a little spirit a little bit safer and more enjoyable.

Sounds great! ...and very reassuring. I'm glad you enjoy your car. I guess the next step for me would be to actually sit in one with a taupe interior and a grey interior to see for myself. Seeing it in person is necessary. And of course, a test drive would likely seal the deal!
Thanks for your input.

SOOO much potential again wasted!
When are we going to get the Bonnevilles back to the rear wheel drive?!?!?!?!?
Rear Wheel Drive = More power to the road = Quicker and more powerful!
i only skimmed the req readng but it didn't look supercharged either.

No such thing as a supercharged Northstar, and if they continued with the 3800, GM would have been harshly criticized for using "old technology"
Either way, I'm sure the GXP will get better each year, however, a RWD Bonneville is on the table for 05. Dunno if that will actually happen tho.

on the table
the nxt bonneville is gonna get rwd but the nxt impala is fwd...i think it is based off of the grad prix..because the spy shot i seen it had gp wheels...so i think the bonneville is gonna be based on the sts...so tht should bump up gxp versions to 310HP and get rwd and awd options..and a nurburing turned suspention...so letes hope tht is the path they will go
