Rear Speakers Out on 94SE with Stcok AM/FM/CD
I've noticed that the rear deck speakers aren't working on my 94SE. No sound at all. Checked wiring to speakers in trunk and all looks OK. Is there anything between the radio itself and the rear speakers that could be the trouble or is this strictly a radio problem? I'm not sure whether my car has a separate amplifier or not or whether it is just radio and speakers. I'd like to get them working if possible unless it requires me to replace the radio which I've thought of doing anyway.
Thanks,
Mike

SE'* do not have any seperate amplifier. You're looking at either a bad amplifier inside the deck, or a bad wiring hookup.
Make sure you didn't hit the fader either.

Rear Speakers Out on 94SE with Stcok AM/FM/CD
Since I think my rear speaker are good and them not operating is a radio problem, could I take the signal to the 2 front speakers which are working and run it through a fader mounted under the dash and thereby get sound to the rears and fronts as well?
This would in essence bypass the fade function in the radio which may be where the problem lies.
Would this mess up the radio?

I doubt that the wiring is bad if you havent touched them and that they were working. If you have a digital multimeter check if you have current coming back to those speakers when the radio is on. If you dont then I would first suspect the radio, but if you have long enough leads on the multi meter then do a resestance test on the wires in the harness and going back to the rear speakers. But since they are both not working it is most likely your deck and it should be replaced, anything else spliced and hob jobbed together would sound bad. You can get a cheap deck if you dont want all the fancy controls for under 100 bucks. Good Luck in the investigation.

I wouldn't reccomend bridging the rear speakers to the front...bad idea and will wreck the radio eventually. Try hooking up another speaker to one of the rear ones and see if you get anything. If not, I'll bet both channels are gone in the rear.
